The Esperanza de Vida (Hope of Life) Orphanage sits a top a mountain in Zacapa, Guatemala. This tropical paradise is just minutes away from mud huts and villages without running water. Share the love of God through personal evangelism or while painting houses and churches, distributing food and clothing, planting a church, or working with the orphans. Spend a few days in the rainforest (Arenales Jungle) with the Mayan Indians.

Age Limits: 13*-30 years old. Must be 13 by July 1, 2009 or have a strong recommendation by youth pastor. Leaders over age 21 are needed!
Restrictions: Must be in good physical condition and able to climb a (small) mountain each day.
Mission Focus: Evangelism through music, drama and establishing relationships as we visit door-to-door. Other ministry will include food and clothing distribution, painting and light construction.

Then YOU make a difference by just showing up!Word travels fast as the natives anxiously await the foreigners to trek their way into the jungle. They hear you have food, clothing and ann important message for them.
Share the Gospel. with Mayan Indians while you sit next to them to learn their native ways. Be soothed to sleep in a hammock in the middle of the ranforest as you listen to the rushing river just a rock's throw away. Or jump in a bunk inside the cabin and listen to the midnight rain dance on the tin roof. Either way, the memories will last a lifetime. You are sure to have the most exciting summer ever!
FREE DAY: All Aboard! On the way out of the jungle, we will stop in Rio Dulce (Sweet River) for a two-hour cruise (each way). You'll be surrounded by God's amazing creation and breathtaking scenery as you ride the waves through the jungle. Take a break and jump in the natural hot spring, or coast your way through lagoons to search for exotic creatures. Along the way, we will stop for lunch at a restaurant located on the waters and experience some of the finest cuisine in the world. Board back on the boat to ride the waves all the way to Livingston, where the Rio Dulce meets the Caribbean Ocean. Walk the sandy beaches, or shop the local markets for authentic souvenirs. You will definitely want to make sure you have your camera ready!
